It’s a go home edition of WWE RAW Show, live from San Jose, California – just 6 days before the big Pay Per view headlined by the big John Cena vs. CM Punk SummerSlam match to determine one undisputed WWE Champion!
WWE Raw opened up with Triple H, the new COO (well, it’s been several weeks now hasn’t it?) announcing that he will be the special guest referee for the John Cena vs. CM Punk match at SummerSlam to make sure that we have ONE undisputed WWE Champion!
Cena came out for the first match and had some ‘off mic’ words with Triple H who did not leave the ring yet. We couldn’t hear it clearly because Jim Ross was yapping. Jim Ross should’ve shut up while Triple H and John Cena were talking; it only sounded like something they wanted the TV audience to hear since they were talking so closely to the camera mic. Triple H said something to the effect of “Whatever happens at SummerSlam is because I want it to happen…”
After an advert break they replayed the conversation between Cena and Triple H without the commentary of Jim Ross. Michael Cole had to recap the conversation. Cena said to Triple H that this was an ‘ego thing’.
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Jack Swagger [non-title match]
After about 7 minutes of back and forth, Cena got Swagger with the five knuckle shuffle followed by the FU for the victory. . The announcers were still shocked regarding the opening of WWE Raw that featured the big announcement that Triple H is now the special guest referee for the John Cena vs. CM Punk Summerslam match.

After the advert break they showed highlights from the SummerSlam 1991 match for the WWE Intercontinental Title: WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig (the Father of Michael McGillicutty). Hart was the first man to kick out of Perfect’s finisher ‘The Perfect Plex. After Hart knocked Perfect’s manager, Coach John Tolos from the apron he applied the Sharpshooter for the victory. This was Hart’s first reign as Intercontinental Champion and would be the first of many career title reigns.
We then went to a backstage promo with Alberto Del Rio. Scott Stanford began to introduce the Mexican aristocrat, but was interrupted by Aberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer, Roberto Rodriguez. Del Rio called CM Punk a coward.
Next we go to a backstage interview. Josh Matthews asked R Truth why he took advantage of his former friend John Morrison. R Truth decided to answer a question with a question. Actually he Truth answered with a series of questions. Including, and I quote: ” Why do hot dogs come 10 to a pack when hot dog buns come 8 to a pack? There’s 2 buns missing. Why are there questions with no answers? Why did God create spiders? I’m glad you asked me that Josh….” He then went on to call John Morrison a spider and said that he was going to squash him.
Rey Misterio vs. The Miz
After another advert break Rey Misterio came out for his match against The Miz. Ross started talking about how Rey Misterio will soon be getting a WWE title re-match. Before Misterio got down the isle The Miz came out and attacked Misterio from behind, throwing him into the steel, uh – thing – located in front of the entrance way. At this point, Michael Cole decided that he was going to ask The Miz what this was all about in the ring. Miz delivered a promo saying that HE should be the one getting the most attention in the WWE right now. He added that he should be apart of SummerSlam. He reminded the WWE Universe that he is “the most must see WWE Champion in History”. He talked about being on the Teen Choice awards and doing many more talk shows for WWE. He said he attacked Misterio before the match officially started to get some attention. With Misterio ‘unable to continue’, ring announcer Justin Roberts announced that Triple H, the new COO, decided that rather than have The Miz win the match by forfeit, the Miz had to wrestle in a new match: against Kofi Kingston! Wow, Triple H sure does move fast. I wonder if the anonymous RAW GM would’ve done that.
The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston
During the match, Cole started going on about the Miz and John Cena being on the Teen choice awards in addition to his other upcoming appearances. Cole asked Ross if he saw it, Ross said that it was past his bedtime so he missed it. Cole then called out Ross on his bed-time claim pointing out that the Teen choice Awards came on before WWE RAW usually does. Ross said that he was just taking a nap after having skim milk and diet cookies with BBQ sauce. True story. Anyway, Miz won with the skull-crushing finale. Cole pushed that with this win, Miz solidified his claim that he should be apart of SummerSlam.
We return to WWE RAW with a backstage interview between Josh Matthews and CM Punk. Matthews asked Punk if he was surprised that Triple H announced that he will be the special guest referee during the John Cena vs. CM Punk Summer Slam match. CM Punk said that he wasn’t surprised because Triple H had a bigger ego than Vince McMahon.
CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio
After the advert break Alberto Del Rio’s Personal Ring Announcer Ricardo Rodriguez did what he does best. Michael Cole said “You know, this could very well be the best part of WWE RAW”. You know what? Some weeks, he could be right. Tonight’s show was a solid show, though. After Cole did a spot for TWIX he took another shot at JR saying that if they had some Twix JR would eat them all. Lawler added that there WERE Twix earlier and JR DID eat them all! Ross replied “Ok, so what if I did!”
Lots of CM Punk chants earlier on in the match. Real good ring-work here. In reality this is really a great match-up. On one end we have a man who was one of the most popular wrestlers in Mexico before coming to the WWE against one of the most popular indie wrestlers (CM Punk) before coming to the WWE. Punk got him with the Go-To Sleep after after the match.
Beth Phoenix vs. Eve Torres
Beth Phoenix wins this match.
They showed clips from the Teen Choice awards where John Cena and The Miz presented an award for Glee. Justin Beiber and other actors were shown.
Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrero vs. Alex Riley
Alex Riley said that it smelled like ‘Death itself took a dump in your Mouth”. Vickie then slapped Alex Riley causing the ref to DQ Ziggler. Vickie & Ziggler argued before and after the match. Then Vickie left Ziggler.
R Truth vs.John Morrison
Really good match here. John Morrison continues to always be one of the highlights of WWE RAW. R Truth did get the victory.
Christian the World Champion did a promo via the Titan Tron saying that he’s got an announcement to make on Smackdown
They send us to the back where Triple H and Johnny Ace (John Laurinaitis) lare ooking over paperwork before the come out to the ring for the WWE John Cena vs. CM Punk SummerSlam match contract signing. Jerry Lawler warned us not to adjust our TV set there were indeed TWO WWE World titles. Whew, thanks King. He stopped me from adjusting my TV set.
CM Punk sat down and said that these contract signings on WWE RAW always end in a brawl. So instead he wanted to be entertaining. Punk then said that he had a clip to show that explained how he felt about John Cena. He said that it wasn’t a clip from Triple H’s movie, the Chaperone. Triple H rebutted by asking CM Punk “How was your movie?” Punk alertly snapped back “Mine went straight to DVD, just like yours” Crowd liked that one. I liked that one. John Laurinaitis (Johnny Ace) liked that one. Not sure if Triple H liked it so much. Punk cut to a clip of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson running down John Cena. Great clip. You can see the clip on Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Facebook. Cena fired back saying that maybe he’s a modern day Hulk Hogan being a company man and all. A man who’s from ‘The System’. John Cena then went on about things that he can do to improve his game, like increasing his workrate and letting his “heel persona shine through”. Then he went on about the analogy that CM Punk made about Cena being the New York Yankees then somehow brought it around to him caring about the people. Cena said that Punk needed to look in the mirror to find a phoney. Then Triple H jumped in saying that CM Punk was a gutless phoney for not explaining his contract demands in person – instead he CALLED. This, with John Lauranaitis, or “Funk Man”, in referance to Lauranait’s likeness to the ‘Curb Your Enthusiam’ character – set up Punk to come at Mr. Johnny Ace for firing DH Smith, Vladimir Kozlov and Chris Masters via telephone, like he does all of his future endeveors. For those who do not know, John Lauranaitis is actually the brother of Road Warrior Animal of former WWE Tag Team Champions Legion Of Doom. So, with that statement he called both Triple H & Johnny Ace ‘phony’. This was a really good segment. Punk and Cena went back and forth for a few more minutes before finally signing the big contract.
So NOW it’s official! John Cena vs. CM Punk for the undisputed WWE Championship at Summerlam! After the dust cleared the two were going to go at it. Johnny Ace stepped in the middle to break it up and got an accidental kick to the head by CM Punk for his troubles. Triple H got hit by John Cena, inadvertantly of course as well. WWE Raw went off the air with CM Punk staring at John Cena and Triple H in the ring seeing this as some sort of alliance against the Voice of the voiceless.

The Joey Styles Shoot
Posted by: | Comments
Recently, since CM Punk did his worked shoot a few weeks ago on RAW, the question has been posed if there are other personalities who have ‘gone off’ on live TV.
Look no further than the former solo ECW announcer and one of the best at his craft – JOEY STYLES. Styles, who now runs the WWE website, at this time was announcing for Monday Night RAW. To his dismay he was fired after several months. Why? Because of his style.
Here’s how it went down; The Joey Styles shoot.
WWE Friday Night Smackdown 7-29-11
Posted by: | CommentsWWE Smackdown TV report : 7-29-11

Triple H WWE CEO kicked off the WWE Smackdown 7-29-11 saying he wasn’t sure what he was going to do about the WWE Title situation. However he would know by Monday. He then turned his attention to the SmackDown title before being cut off by Christian.
Triple H WWE CEO said Christian will face Randy Orton at SummerSlam in a No Holds Barred match so that Christian can’t complain about officiating.
R-Truth then came out talking about spiders and conspiracies. Nothing about little jimmy, this time. Hunter told him he would be wrestling John Morrison next.
Triple H WWE CEO was walking with Long in the back saying he had his back when Zack Ryder walked up and said he had another idea. Hunter said he’d had the job for two weeks and this was already the fiftieth idea Ryder had pitched. Ryder said it wasn’t his fault they didn’t recognize him as Internet Champion. Hunter said he had to take a call and then palmed Ryder off onto Long by making him his new assistant.
Christian (C) Vs. John Morrison, Non-Title Match.
Christian used the Killswitch for the pinfall over the 70% Morrison.
Winner: Christian, Pinfall.
We see Jinder Mahal and The Great Khali watching from a skybox that Jinder had bought.
Wade Barrett entered the ring during the ad break to talk about why he came to the states and became a WWE Superstar. It was to make a lot of money. He said Bryan had been walking around with what should be his briefcase and his WrestleMania paycheck..
Bryan cut him off and walked to the ring saying originality wasn’t Barrett’s strong point since Heath Slater gave this same speech last week before tapping out. Barrett picked up Bryan’s briefcase and got in his face so Bryan grabbed the arm and put on the Lebell Lock.
Long was then shown in the back being talked to death by Ryder. Henry came in and Ryder said he would be able to find him an opponent.
They showed a video of Justin Gabriel going back to South Africa, talking about what it meant to be a WWE wrestler, I mean, SUPERSTAR, from South Africa. Great segment.
Natalya, AJ & Kaitlyn Vs. Alicia Fox, Rosa Mendes & Tamina.
The match broke down off of a nearfall for AJ leaving just Alicia and AJ in the ring as Natalya and Kaitlyn took out Rosa and Tamina. Alicia ducked a cross body and hit an axe kick to the body for the pin.
Winners: Alicia Fox, Tamina & Rosa, Pinfall.
Mark Henry Vs. Mystery Opponent.
Bobby Howard came out without music. Bobby Howard was a very short skinny guy. He got a third of the way down the ramp before turning around and trying to walk out. Ryder stopped him and gave him a pop talk which got him in the ring. The fans actually chanted “Bobby” but it was short lived as Henry threw him across the ring and then had fun giving such a light person two World’s Strongest Slams, followed by a third onto his knee for a backbreaker. He then pinned Bobby.
Henry wasn’t done yet. Henry got up and dragged Howard to the corner and grabbed a chair from ringside. The announcers were scared of him and got off commentary. Henry put the chair around Howard’s leg and chased the ref away. Henry yelled about the level of competition until Sheamus’ music hit.
He said Henry was just big and told an Irish tail about a giant bastard. Henry ignored Sheamus and yelled at Long as the fans chanted for Sheamus. Sheamus slapped Henry when he yelled that Sheamus talked too much, then ducked under the rope as Henry charged, spilling him to the outside. Sheamus grabbed a chair in the ring so Henry threw the stairs at him. Henry then walked away from an intense segment.
The Uso Vs. David Otunga & Michael McGillicuty (c), Tag Team Title Match.

Short match. I will try to report the finish properly. Wish me luck. The Usos were on their way to a win when Otunga, the non legal man ran around and threw the non-legal Uso off the apron to the floor. The legal Uso went up top to give McGillicutty a splash but Otunga rolled the now hurt Uso into the ring. The ref focused on this Uso, which allowed Otunga to push the legal Uso off the top rope which McGillicutty followed with a running neck breaker on for the pinfall.
Internet Champion Zach Ryder suggested Ezekiel Jackson taking on both Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase tonight but Long said he was the one who made the matches, NOT Internet Champion. When Ryder said the three guys were all ok with it then Long changed his mind and said it was on, playa.
The awesome Teacher, Matt Striker talked to Truth in the back about his upcoming main event with Orton. He said he felt good and a good R-Truth is a bad R-Truth and he’d be unleashing the bad tonight. He also mentioned ripping apart a snake.
Ezekiel Jackson (c) Vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Handicap Match.
Rhodes and DiBiase used quick tags until Jackson got DiBiase outside and started the bodyslams on Cody. He got three then tried for the Lex Luger Torture Rack but got booted in the gut by DiBiase. Zeke sent him back outside but missed a shoulder charge into the corner on Cody, who then hit the Cross Rhodes for the pinfall.
Jinder Mahal was then shown in his box again talking over the house mic in Punjab. He then had Khali say something. Crowd chanted USA.
Match Number Six: R-Truth Vs. Randy Orton.
Christian came out to the ramp a few minutes into the match.. He soon grabbed a chair and hit Truth for the DQ. No help from Little Jimmy.
Orton continued his attack on Truth, hitting him with a monitor after taking the announcer’s table apart. Temper, Temper.

The Return Of Michael Hayes on Television?
The Smackdown tapings this past week revealed a potential new manager for WWE Superstar Tyson Kidd: Michael PS Hayes! Hayes is known to long time wrestling fans as part of the legedary Fabulous Freebirds. Now he is the head writer for the Friday Night SmackDown brand of WWE. The ‘Shaman of Sexy’ John Morrison was treated by Dr. Joseph Maroon, the medical director of WWE. It is believed that Morrison is making excellent progress.
The Miz may have lost the WWE Title to John Cena, but don’t expect to see the last of him in the spotlight. The higher ups at WWE are very pleased with how professional MIZ had carried himself as champion. Miz also brings that STAR power to the WWE – that is, coming from the Real World and all. No, no. Not the ‘real’ world. But the TV show…in the fake world, that is. Here’s the announced WWE Over The Limit card, as of press time..
“I Quit” Match for the WWE Championship:
John Cena (c) vs. The Miz
World Heavyweight Championship Match:
Randy Orton (c) vs. Christian
Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole
(Jerry Lawler will give up his WWE Hall of Fame ring to Michael Cole if he loses.)
Intercontinental Championship Match:
Wade Barrett (c) vs. Ezekiel Jackson
R Truth vs. Rey Mysterio
What do you think of this card?
Think the Great Khali has gone soft as of late? Well, the newest addition to the WWE Roster, Jinder Mahal seems to think the same thing. There are some that think he may be trying to sway the Giant away from his brother’s managing. His brother, of course being David Kapoor, I mean Ranjin Singh. Oops. Not manager, either. He is the “peevish communicator” for Great Khali.
Dolph Ziggler’s brother Ryan Nemeth has joined the WWE family in the form of developement territory Florida Championship Wrestling. His new wrestling name is Briely Pierce. He’s doing really well!
Steve Austin is being advertised locally as appearing on the June 13 Raw show at the Nassau Coliseum. This is going to be a three-hour Raw the first week after Tough Enough is over. This was also the original date for the 2011 WWE draft.
“Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase is (finally) getting his own DVD release. The Ted Dibiase DVD is currently in production and will be called “Wrestling with Faith”.

The Teacher’s

REWIND
And what a RAW it was! The Champ was here – but so was the Miz! Michael Cole got personal with the King! Kharma made another appearance and R Truth got served!
Alberto Del Rio came out to start the show. He said that last week rather than wasting all that time on Rocky Maivia they should have celebrated the Raw arrival of Alberto Del Rio. Well, he’s got a point. But you already knew that. I think that the move to RAW will be great to Del Rio. Already he’s making an impact.
Kharma came out an interrupted another Divas wrestling match, destroying EVE TORRES. We spoke about this amazing beast many moons ago. Here’s some exclusive clip of Kharma wrestling around the world.
The Miz is still in the spotlight! The former WWE Champion got a big win over Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio in a No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match with help from his apprentice Alex Riley. Now, Miz faces WWE Champion John Cena in an “I Quit” Match at Over the Limit.
Michael Cole vowed to retire from active competition so that Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler could never get his hands on Cole. Cole bit on a bit much more than he can chew, however, by berating the WWE Hall Of Famer Cole bit off more than he can chew.

As reported here, there’s a serious John Morrison injury that the former champion must attend to. The ‘Shaman of Sexy’ was treated by Dr. Joseph Maroon, the medical director of WWE. The doctor noticed immediate progress with regard to strength and decreased numbness in his arm in the recovery room.

New John Cena Movie – Family Reunion
Posted by: | CommentsJohn Cena stars In Family Reunion
There’s a new John Cena movie on the horizon. John Cena stars in Family Reunion, the soon to be released newest movie from WWE.
Here’s a synopsis of the film from Titan Towers:
“In the film, the Cleary brothers, Sam (JOHN CENA), Leo (ETHAN EMBRY) and Douglas (BOYD HOLBROOK) take dysfunctional families to a new level: Sam and Leo have grown up hating each other and neither likes their juvenile delinquent kid brother, Douglas, to whom they’ve only recently been introduced. The sons share the same father, a womanizing drunk, but all have different mothers. Their father died a rich man and when they’re brought together by their sister Nina (AMY SMART) to learn which of them will inherit the old man’s fortune, they are handed an unpleasant surprise.
A requirement of the will is that the three estranged siblings go into business together. Their first job is to bring in a parole violator, who has left Leo, a bail bondsman, with a $250,000 debt. Their search will take them into the mountains of Mexico where they encounter a drug lord and uncover a kidnapping plot, masterminded by an embittered entrepreneur (MICHAEL RISPOLI) that will endanger them all.”
Will you be seeing the new John Cena movie?
John Morrison Injury
Posted by: | CommentsBreaking News: WWE Superstar John Morrison Injured
WWE Superstar John Morrison recently announced on his twitter account that he will need to undergo neck surgery. Morrison wasn’t very specific with regard to the injury.
The wrestling news came out when Morrison was pulled from the weekend house shows and examined. It was determined he needs surgery. Morrison is expected to be out of action for about 6 months!
Ric Flair is also another active wrestler who needs surgery – he needs surgery on his rotator cuff near his shoulder – but has continued to wrestle because he DOES NOT want to take the time off.
How will the WWE fair with Morrison’s injury? Do you feel this happened at just the time that Morrison was becoming a top contender?
Update:
The ‘Shaman of Sexy’ was treated by Dr. Joseph Maroon, the medical director of WWE. In a procedure to alleviate pain and weakness in his arm, Dr. Maroon created a small incision in the back of Morrison’s neck and removed a bone spur and a small fragment of the C5-C6 disc from around the nerve root. He noticed immediate improvement in strength and decreased numbness in his arm in the recovery room.
